Well its like this, The 400i sounded fine, i paid $239.99 + tax used.
Well i happen to find a csi40 a month old for around $240.00 ,msrp is $399.99 new so i saved a bunch of money. So basically i couldn't pass up getting a matching speaker, tweeter wise, exterior wise, and i actually paid less than a year old display model. I haven't tested it with movies or anything as i got home from being out all day hooked it up and thats about it, played some music through it and it sounded good, weather it will sound "better" or not i don't know or care because i now have a speaker that looks and sounds like the rest of my set and by the way i sold the 400i for $250.00 so it was like an even trade for the csi40, not out of pocket money spent. I'm happy

And yes, the csi40 looks FAR better in appearence then the cs400i
the new woodgrain material, the new speaker grill, and its also wider and has 2 power ports in the back. I do have it Bi-wired. actually i had no intention of dropping the 400 bucks for a new csi40 just for it to look the same as the others, However when i was able to get the "new" one for the same price, sell one and buy another, i jumped on it. I was not attached to the 400i nor any speakers i have. although now i love my setup and the only thing i really want now is a new sub....

Let us know what you think of it compared to the 400i. I have the CSi40 and I also tested it with music when I brought it home. It sounds very good, especially the upper bass. I think it should be great for multi-channel DVD-A or SACD.
