This coming Tuesday, I will be the proud new owner of a pair of SDA's and LSI-9's!

Not trying to brag, I just cant wait for this week! Wwwwwwooooooooooooo!

It's not bragging hombre. I think we would be pretty disappointed if you didn't tell us what you're getting and how it's an improvement over what you had before. Besides, it's always nice to talk about what you have new in your life....ya bragger.;)

The SDA's are not set in stone. I walked into Sound Approach today just to demo some gear.... and low and behold, the SDA's were smiling at me right as I walked in.

My heart stopped for a few seconds as I stood before the grand SDA I heard everyone from this board speak of. I notice they were used, some scratches in the veneer *not major* and the binding posts completely removed. One of the salesmen said that by monday they will be on.

On monday I will go back, demo them, and then make the purchase. ..... I may wish to do some work on them, getting looking completely new again. Perhaps then I will make the choice to sell em..... or keep em.... not sure yet :)

Oh yes, I forgot to answer your question F1Nut,

Truth is, Im not sure what they are....

They have one tweeter, four mids and a 12' passive radiator....

Hmmm...the 2B's have one tweeter, two mids and a 12" pr. The 1C's have two tweeters, four mids and a 12" pr, so I'm not sure what you've got. Let us know.

Could have swore I saw four mids, but I could be wrong.

The 2B's are most likely what they are. Before I plunk down already limited funds, what do you believe is a just price for em?

If in good (near mint) condition, no more than $500.00. Har just got a pair of 2B's on eBay with one bad tweeter for $179.00, but he's got spare tweets so, he's set. If they are 1C's, about $850.00 max.

Hmmmm all drivers are perfect. Minor cosmetical damage on the tops, but otherwise in good condition...... with some brush work of course....

Damn you're so lucky. Congrats man! Everyone are always raving about SDA's. Am I the only one who haven't heard a pair of SDA here????

then you need to find a pair and go listen..............they are a fine speaker.I bet there is a member or 3 that haven't heard them go...you might luck out and stumble on a good deal....

great job atcvenom. congrats..i hope you get the sda's. I have the same pair and they are mint and sound great. I really like the LSi's too. I wish I had a pair. I hope you really enjoy the sda's......

one question though..

how much better do the sda 2's sound versus the sda-2b's? I know they have an extra tweeter and an extra midwoofer. I think they are closer to the 1c's than the 2b's..at least in drivers....

The 2B's are the newer verison. Polk discovered that the SDA effect was mainly in the mid-range and the extra SDA effect speakers in the 2's were not needed. I've never heard the 2's, so I can't comment on them, although I would think that the 2B's are better and closer to the 1C's.

really...i would think just the opposite....The sda-2's with the 2 tweeters and the 3 midwoofers would sound better and be more comparable to the 1c's than the sda-2b's, which only have 1 tweet and 2 midwoofers....

I guess Polk improved upon the design and made a better sound out of less speakers....

Like I said, I never heard the 2's, but I own the 2B's and heard the 1C's back when I bought the 2B's. The 1C's are much better than the 2B's, but I was on very limited funds back then, so I got what I could afford. It seems logical that Polk improved the design of the 2B's. Now that I can afford more, I got some 2.3TL's and am very happy with them.
