Anyone have some advice on how to best store extra cables?

I've assumed you minimally want to keep in very dry enviorment - is this silly?

I have quite a collection: HDMI, Optical/coaxial audio, rcas etc. etc.)
currently all in suede covered box, (many inside unsealed- plastic bags) in my dry Living room.
Should these be sealed off? Or is this worse, unless the seal perfect.
THANKS

I hang mine in the closet,,just make sure that you keep them away from warm.moist places/areas.:) Then, there's always the flea market. Seriously,, just don't wrap them in tiny little "coils".

I keep mine in an old VCR box, stored in a closet. Most cables use plated connectors, and they won't corrode. There is no special storage needed.

I had a shoe box that I just tossed all my spare audio parts in originally. These days, it's a much bigger box, but still just toss them in there. Most are in galloon freezer bags with like members of their species (IC with ICs, speaker cable with speaker cables, etc.).

Finally got around to posting some of them for sale / resale as I have way to many, and continue to buy more.

You must store your expensive cables in a cryogenic box specifically designed for cables. These boxes are also equipped with electric pumps which removes all the air and leaves your cables in a vacuum....the idea is to try to emulate the vacuum of space. I think it's called the "IC Cryo-Store". They also have an optional adapter that will "keep" the break-in period of your current cables or perform a break-in of new cables.
