Saw this ad on the local Boston CL, figured some of you vinyl collectors would get a kick out of it.

I know some of you have the albums this guy has in the same sealed condition. Check out this guys ad and his prices......There is no way some of those albums can be worth what he is asking.....maybe a couple. The funny thing on his site it says he is super busy filling orders already, you think people really pay these kinds of prices for albums?

Are you tired of rolling the dice on Ebay, hoping that the album you just bought is the real deal, original version, accurately graded? I'm a fellow collector/audiophile who is fed up with the bottleg, fake, and inaccurately graded records that you find on the web. I've taken the cream of my collection, and have started my own record website. Hopefully I can raise enough money to start buying whole collections. I"m honest and trustworthy. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter. I'll be adding more records as soon as I can. Thanks

Amen!

Can you say gouge!

I don't mind paying $7 to $15 for a sealed copy of music I like from for the 60s, 70, 80s but I'm not paying that much for any record unless of course it is a Classic Music 200 gm release.

I just purchased a sealed copy of Cat Stevens, "Tea for the Tillerman" for like $20 (list was $35) bucks, I believe it is a rerelease and it sounds awesome. I bought it from a brick and mortar store. If it was an internet store, I don't think I would have gotten the discount nor would I have considered paying $35 for a regular LP release.

Great, great, great LP, $250, yeah right!

He's proud of his LP's that's for sure....

As a side note I've ordered a couple of vinyl goodies in ancticpation of my return:

Beatles - Rubber Soul - Japanese Pressing w/OBI
Pucini - Turandot - Mehta/Pavarotti - London/Decca 3 box set (if you like Turandot, this is THE set to own)
Acoustic Research Demonstration LP
Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries - Sheffield.

I can't WAIT to give them a spin.

Anyone else find it ironic that there's NOTHING listed in the "Bargains" area?

THis is going to give you a spiritural experience. I sent it on down to Ted last year and he loved it. I listen to it at least once a week. Did you know that back in I think 1982 Harry Pearson (TAS) said that this was the greatest recording of classical music he had ever heard. I'm right there with him. The part where Siegfried bursts through the cloud raises two inch goosebumps.

A roll of shrink wrap and heat sealer runs about $150 bucks.

Less, see the textbook thread. There was one for about $20 + shipping. :D

Right, I'm going to be a triffle busy for the first 30-40 seconds I'm home...but after that c'mon down.

Bring your vinyl, unless it's REALLY dorked up....we'll clean it on the VPI and see but it should be ok.

David (DAGLJAM6) has a German pressing of Rubber Soul and it's FANTASTIC.

Yes, I've heard about the Leinsdorf/Sheffield and have been stalking one for quite some time....one came up with a VERY reasonable BIN and I snagged it.

I figure these LP's will occupy my time whilst my pillow cases are in the wash to get the Brylcreme stains out of them.
