Not what you think . . . my main rig is great.
. . . but how would these sound in my bathroom?
Is $100 a fair price?

Definately.....nice soothing music in the bathroom could potentially help bowel movements.

I think the price is a bit high. I might be willing to pay $75. I really like the way these speakers look. They have that vintage look that strikes some kind of nostalgia for me (not sure why as these speakers were made when I was suckin' on bottles.)

Shit, those are Monitor 5's.
Eh, the 7's are where it's at, broham.
I bagged a pair of 5's at a pawn a couple years ago with Russman for 45 bones.

Ok I'll lowball the punk and see what I can do. I really want a pair of Monitor 10Bs in my thrown room, but I may not be able to get out the door when I'm done.

Go with the 7's. They were the class of the Monitor series.
The 10's are a cool speaker but can't image worth a shit. Those are Polk's words, not mine. (that were given under a heavy dose of Jim Beam)

First and foremost...break out the vacuum and clean that return air grill then get yer dusty arse to the home center and stock up on some quality pleated furnace filters. We'll talk speakers after you get back.:p

Might want to go with outdoor speakers in a bathroom unless it's really large. I would think the excess humidity would be hell on standard speakers, but I guess if you can get them cheap enough it wouldn't really matter.

No humidity . . . this is strictly a dark room with a head.

Every serious Polk fan needs to have a pair of Monitor 7's tucked away.

If you sell them, be sure to disclose, "smoke free inviroment, but....may have some odor"

Matt Polk also said the Monitor 10 was his favorite of the entire line when told by the faithful 7 they liked the 7, he was sober, why does one always have to be better than another?? I like both the 7 and the 10, its a tie, just a plain ole tie, I like ties, that is the way life sometimes is, you tie, no overtime, no sudden death, no neat little box of this is better, you tie.

Point well taken, Ted and I didn't mean to sound as if I were insulting the 10's. They are a great, musical and fun to listen to speaker. No doubt. Apologize if I came accross as a little terse about the 10's...I'm 2 weeks short and got sand in my drawers, perhaps I'm getting too crabby in my old age.
I prefer the 7's though....that's the beauty of the hobby. If we had all the money in the world, there would be no need for option.

IMO, 7's sound much better than 10's. It could have been my room or setup, but the 10's sounded bloated to me.

You know Troy I think you hit the word for me, the 10's are fun, I use them only for rock, loud ass rock, not refined at all, the 7's I like much better for detailed acoustic guitar, jazz even classical.

Any Polk speaker built with the MW65xx's and Peerless tweeters are great.

Agreed, broham. If you want to rock out with your c*ck out...the 10's are where it's at. So, perhaps they ARE the spekaers for the crapper.
