Monitor 5jr

I've got an extra pair of 5jr I would like to sell to a local (sorry, prefer not to ship yet).

These are not perfect, but would fair nice in a shop or garage. Grills have some snags/pilling here and there but all pegs are intact. One logo is missing the word "polk". Cabinets have typical light surface scratches/nicks and corner wear - one cabinet has significant wear/peeling (1.5" long) on top, back corner. All drivers look and work great.

Can't seem to find too many of these locally or on ebay right now, so hard to guess what current market is. Will probably post on CL soon. I would like to get SOLD/TRADED TO ZINGO

I just took a closer look at these and it appears the main driver (not the passive) on one of these has a different (softer) dome in the center. :confused:

The driver in the other cabinet seems to have the same Polk stamp on the edge of the face, but I haven't taken them out to see if they are a different model...maybe just the dome was replaced/repaired at some point?

They both look like gen-u-ine Polk drivers. Could be woise.

They are definitely both Polk drivers, stamped identical, just a slightly different cap for some reason.

If an Oregon member (or anyone in sw WA) is interested, I'll be in Vancouver WA on Sat/Sun.

I'll negotiate a little due to the mismatch. Possibly open to partial/full trades too...cables, Denon avr, ??

I wish you 2 were local too! I've had no luck on CL either (even though there has been a pair at $100 and another at $200). :confused:

I'd rather not go lower and lose more $ on this pair...somebody local must want some small older monitors...trade me something?

It would be nice to have a spare set of cables. However, 5' might be a little short and I don't have anything capable of bi-amping, but let me stew on that a bit. You don't do ICs do you?

The 5jr would probably do well in a computer set up. They just aren't perfect if you wanted to display them. You are more than welcome to come check them out anytime.
