Hello
I have a chance at some RTI8's for $275 locally or RTI 6 shipped for the same. I currently have RTI 12's up front, CSI 5, and RTI 6's in the rear. I wanted to take advantage of the clearance prices of the RTI series and pick up a 6th and 7th channel speaker..
I know the 8's are far better, but isn't a surround speaker supposed to be elevated? Will my Denon 3805 power all these speakers effeciently? I have a Behringer EP2500 powering the woofers on the 12's, and A HSU SFT3 sub.
These deals will go quick. I appreciate your inputs!!

I personally would take RTi6's properly placed over RTi8's on the floor.
And honestly in a rear surround situation I highly doubt you would hear much difference between the two.

I agree. Between the two, I'd go for the RTi6's. However, for side surrounds, I would get the FXi5's over either of them. Maybe you could buy the RTi8's, sell them for a profit, and use the extra money to help you get the FXi5's.

Thanks guys for your input.
I have had the 8's now for a week or two. I have them set up as my rear surrounds. My set up calls for these directly behind my couch. I agree, surrounds need to be elevated. What I have done however is take off the feet, and put them on these 6 inch stands I have that tilt upwards toward my seating position.
I find the 8's to be a little better. Not much but a little better. Clearer in the mid range, a little louder if that is possible, and I really notice with surround music. I listed to the standard DSOTM SACD and they sounded amazing. I think I am going to keep them. If just for the WOW factor when you see these beauties as my surround speakers. I will use my existing 6's as side surrounds when I move to a bigger place soon.
I got them at Future Shop for $275 a pair. Why wouldn't I jump all over that when RTI6's are $300 shipped on Ebay?
