Hi,
I have a question going in the reverse direction. How do you unsolder or unbraze a silver-soldered joint between stainless steel and brass without destroying optical components housed within?

Soldering iron and syringe? You should be able to find a 'desoldering' syringe at Radio Shack. Or you can Google 'desolering tool'. Good luck.
And welcome to the forum>

Natalie ?, why did you ask a question from a posting that was made 10 years ago in another site?
Did you just go through a time warp?
