The first thing I would do is sell / return the PSW10 and try to put that money towards a better sub.
I think unless you have a really big room or a lot of 7.1 material (not much out), adding 2 more surrounds wouldn't make a huge difference. A separate amp is always a good upgrade option, but you should get pretty good sound/dynamics from your Marantz.
Start by upgrading your subwoofer as it will surely greatly increase HT and music, then go from there. . . I had a PSW10 for about 2 days, then returned.

Another voice saying upgrade the sub first. You may or may not notice a difference with an amp, but your jaw will hit the floor with an Epik Castle replacing your PSW-10. (assuming you were looking at about 1 grand for an amp)

Sub really make that the HT sound better, SVS, Epik and of course ElementalDesigns if you dont mind the long wait. All of those I mentioned have "WOW" factor.

Yes, I think an amp makes a huge difference. Borrow one from your dealer and test it for yourself. The fullness of the sound will sooth you.

Agree with the others, upgrade the sub first,an amp on the 8's will yield better performance, but not as much as an upgraded sub.
