I quess I'm a late bloomer into these formats. I just got into SACD last year and really dig it. I've acquired 20+ SACD titles now. I don't as of yet own any DVD-A's but am looking at a couple of Diana Krall titles to get my feet wet. Anyway, I'd just like to get some opinions regarding DVD-A. Wondering if it's a decent format worth owning? Thanks.

I love DVD-A and sacd. Hi res music is like hi-def TV...once you've experienced it it's hard to go back. I especially love surround. Also a great format is dts for surround music. Still lossless but with 5.1 channels. I have over 300 dts titles and about 50 or so dvd-a and a few sacd. The down side is that these formats never really caught on in an ipod obsessed world and are fazing out. The hope is that with the new capability of very high resolution digital music on blu-ray (and of course the dying hd-dvd format) perhaps the music labels will distribute even better stuff soon.

Oh and I forgot to mention..Diana Krall on DVD-A sounds awesome. I have two of her titles. Amazon.com http://store.acousticsounds.com/ and ebay for all three formats.

For currently available DVD A try some of the Depeche Mode, REM, Neil Young reissues.
SACD's are hard to find unless you want to try some new excellent Chesky titles or some import Genesis titles.
All are pretty pricey.

SACD's aren't hard to find. This site shows what is available and where to find it.

Well, I thought I would give Diana Krall (sp?) a go, and there was a package deal with a Ray Charles album someone permanently borrowed, both on SACD....Then there was a movie I HAD TO HAVE while I was there..... then I found that album that was sold out last week around here....Amazon is a dangerous place.:D
