I watched it last night, its kinda slow, not alot of action but the stoy is good enough to keep you interested, it kinda drags on toward the end also.

At 3 hours I would expect it to be slow. I've read that the story, acting and cinematography are really good.

Ron-P - all that you mention is true. It's also pretty accurate when compared to many of the books about Jesse James. Unfortunately this is more documentry than action, which made the 3 hrs kind of a stretch. I did enjoy it, I just wanted a little crap going boom every so often.

I was really looking forward to this movie but the critics really didn't like it and it didn't seem to do very good at the box office..although that isn't always a good barometer. Anyway I'll probably be watching it in a day or two as I had high hopes for it.

I'm 2 hours in, would have finished but my neighbor had to go so we'll finish it tomorrow night, in a word, fantastic. The story, the acting, the cinematography...it's all top shelf. The tension created just in the body language and looks given by the actors is excellent. I cannot wait to finish it. But, it's not your typical shoot'em up western.

but the critics really didn't like
Of course they didn't, because it's good. Critics don't know shit from shineola!

How are you liking Blu ray?

I really like it, I have a good 50+ Blu-ray discs in my collection now along with 2 players now, a PS3 and the Samsung BD-P1000. For the most part I don't watch any SD-DVDs anymore. HD-DVD is just as fantastic but being that it's on it's death bed I don't buy too many of those discs anymore, haven't for months.

Unbelievable flick. I really appreciated the slow-tempo ala Once Upon A Time in the West. Sometimes it's rewarding to be forced to pay attention. Much more immersive.

Academy award material in spades.

It's rewarding to hear someone appreciate the "art" of film making and let the film develop at the director's pace. Once Upon a Time... is an excellent example (if you haven't seen it watch the FULL directors "Once upon a time in America", it's superb). Way too much "hit me now" and "have to fill the screen" aspects to Hollywood filmmaking. I haven't seen this movie yet but it is next up on my Netflix. Really looking forward to it.

sorry, this is simply a commentary (after a few ok a lot.. glasses of good italian wine)
