They look like they have foam surrounds.

They appear like Monitor 5's with Peerless tweets.

Wow....I remember those sitting on a dealers shelf waaayyyy back when they first came out. They were impressive little boogers.

Not monitor 5's, I don't think because the PR appears to be the same size as the active driver. It's hard to tell with very early Polk's as there are some low volume models that you never see brochure's for. These are physically very small speakers.

I think it's called a "mini-monitor" and was a very early version and later discontinued. You can see it it the photo here

The Monitor 4 is the one pictured on the stands and recommended to mate with the LF14

mini monitor i think too. those look tiny.. baby, Ken and Barbi sized speakers. :)

Boy do those bring back memories. My first real speakers were Monitor 5jr's. They were hooked up to a NAD 40 watt amp, Hafler pre amp, and a homemade subwoofer.

That is what started my Polk love.:D
