well i was looking on ebay and saw a Pioneer elite 2 channel amp to go with my pioneer Reciever. Now it isnt like a High class amp its 100x2 at 4ohms which i dont know what 4ohms or 8ohms is So i fingure i ask before i go buy it and it now be what I want. Now would i be able to use this in my 7.1 setup or is it just for stero. I plan on buying lsi9's for fronts would this work well with the Amp if i can use it in 7.1 my goal is to set up my ht so i only have to get low bass to the sub and anything above 60ish hz go to Fronts and the rest of the speakers. My fronts are not even be pushed and i want them to be pushed havent seen what these could do unless i put it on stereo.Any help would be Great as I will be a newb at this for a few more months as i get into it.
Edit I listen to music in 7.1 i dont switch it over to stereo

How old is the amp?
If it is like 10 or 15 years old, you will most likely need to replace the caps in that amp. Plus if it is that old, you will also need to clean up the contacts and whatever gunk may have accumulated inside that amp.

Thats not an amp that will provide any benefit over what you have.Plenty of threads here that describe 4 ohm and 8 ohm needs.Hit the search button and get your read on.

Elite is pioneer's top of the line stuff. If it's an Elite amp, then it probably is a good stuff. What are the specs on this amp?
100 watts into 4 ohms is like 60 or so watts into 8 ohms.

100WPC isn't the optimal power for LSi9's. I'd recommend at least 200WPC.

Does the volume knob on an Elite go to eleven?
