Came Home from work today, turned the corner and I saw them. Four Big Beautiful Boxes!!!:D Got my RTi8's, CSi A6, and my FXi A4's!!! Now I just need a receiver??? All in beautiful cherry! Can't wait to run my wire and plug them into my soon to be decided on receiver! Already had the DSW Pro 500, so everything together should sound excellent!

I know what you mean, between the major components and odds and ends I think I'm up to 8 different shipments now. I can't wait to have everything and to get it setup. It will be my first time setting up a real receiver..

Congrats on the new gear

Just can't seem to find a receiver to my liking.... Any suggestions? The Onkyo 805 is pretty easy to set up. The microphone does it all. The instructions are simple and the remote is nice and big if you are a big boy like me. I use my 805 and a Adcom gfa 555 to run my RTi 12's. Just my .02. Enjoy it all !!!!!!!!!! Congrats.

Check out the Yamaha RX-V663. Also, did you say you got the Fxi's in Cherry? I'm all ears.

+1 for the 805.

Simple yet powerful and quality-built.

I actually have almost an identical setup, with RTi8's, CSi5, and FXi4's paired with a Pioneer Elite VSX-72TXV and it has served me very well. I tried the Onkyo, too, but returned it because the Pioneer just sounded more musical to me. Plus, the setup was so simple.

Modified:

I agree, feature wise there is no comparison between the two. I just liked the sound of the Pioneer better with 2 ch. and SACD. Home theater was no difference. If you don't care much about the new HD audio formats, I think an older Pioneer, Marantz, or used separates make a much better overall setup for the money. That said, the Onkyo is still a sweeeeet receiver.

Not meaning to thread-jack, but I am selling the Pioneer to upgrade to separates so if you're looking for a good deal on a receiver, send me an email... gebby44@gmail.com

Not only are you spamming his thread, but you're breaking the forum rules.

It's illegal to place the VSX-72 on the same level as the 805.

But seriously, the 805 is better in all respects...but everyone's different...

The 92 is more of a competitor than the 72, and even the 92 pales in some respects to the 805, IMO.
