I thought i had a pretty good system until i saw some of yours. Congrats !

Anyway, here's what i got.

Reciever: Can't remember the series, but its a Yamaha 100 wpc 5.1.

Fronts: Polk monitor 60 fr speakers, which are brand new. Almost went with Kipsch but thought i was getting a much better deal, with the Polks. They are replacing 20 yo Bose 401

Center: Klipsch synergy c-1. The c-3 was too big for my current tv stand.

Subwoofer: Boston accoustics HPS10HO. Just got it, and its connected with a monster thx600 subwoofer cable.

Wiring: Everything is Monster wire with monster connectors.

*** I did bi-wire the monitor 60's last week and i did notice an improvement. Not earth changing but an improvement non the less.

I see some of you have $900.00 speaker cables ?! I did'nt know there was such a thing. My wife would kill me.

I just started updating my old equipment, and thought i studied up....obviously i have ALOT to learn.

Any other monitor 60 owners out there ? They seem to get pretty good reviews.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Ryder. Sounds like you have a nice system. Enjoy it. And be careful around here. Reading about what others have is a sure way to catch "upgradeitis", a little understood affliction that can be financially painful and one for which there is no cure. :)

Thanks Mark.

I thought i had a real good systen going, until i saw what some of you have.

I thought i got a smokin deal on the Polks through Crutchfield but then found out about Amazon.com. So i tracked down the Boston Accoustis sub for $100.00 less than Crutchfield. Then found this forum and found out about Fry's. It pays to look around.

Lots of good info on here. Kind of wish i would have found it sooner.

I have Polk Monitor 60s. They are great for HT, and can be good for music as well. I was impressed when I first purchased them. Still am 2 years later (even though I've upgraded electronics around them several times. They don't compete with my 2-channel gear, but they do sound great for movies and the occassional music.

I've run them with my HK 635, then with a bridged Carver tfm-6cbs, for a while on a B&K ST-140, and for the past few months on a B&K ST-1430. They aren't expensive speaker, but they respond well to upgraded power / current like any good speaker will.

Get a good sub and enjoy!
