Any chance that we could buy them right here in the Flea Market and avoid the eBay hassle?
If so, I would buy a pair....

I agree. Why can't Polk have a special for loyal club memebers. Saves them Ebay fees and rewards their most dedicated customers.
Maybe they're sent to ebay to get the name out there more, especially since most of us are already familiar with them.

That would be way cool. Unfortunately it would attract lots of scum just to get the better price....even more scum than we already have without that.

I think all Polk products should come here first (before the public is aware of them). Then if we dont want them, raise the price and move them to Ebay.

I don't really think that. They're still a business trying to make money. I guess the more I think about it -- it would probably turn into another reason for people to get mad about something.
I am in the market for some LSi9s, but I don't want to buy them off eBay, even from Polk.
C'mon Mark, work something out. ;)

I kinda of agree, throw some polk members a bone, loyal customers and club members deserve something.

What does "refurbished" actually mean?
If its Polk replaces all the drivers with new ones - hell thats a brand spankin' new speaker! Or does it mean the parts were repaired? Or would that be re-manufactured?
These would be a steal. I bid on both of them but I see my piddly $300 max budget wasnt enough. I didnt think it would be but I figured Id give it a shot. Maybe Id get lucky and nobody would notice them til it was too late. Would be worth raiding the house fund for some LSi9's for $300!

We need ourselves a private section that only people with an adequate number of posts and time of service can post in. Old dog's home type of place, if you get my meaning. Than we could avoid the hassle of those single post sellers/buyers from reaping the benefits of the Polk faithful. There's something nice about having a place where maybe only tenured people can reside.
Oh, and make it an anything goes channel. Clamp your iron fist down on the rest of the site, but give us a vent already :D

I wouldn't hesitate for one moment to buy something off Ebay from the official Polk store. I know some people cringe at the thought it's being done through Ebay, but you're buying a Polk product from Polk, not some no feedback knucklehead living in Nigeria.
While Polk has a written warranty stating a certain time period, their near legendary customer service has been known to take care of some "out of warranty" things with zero cost to the customer. Thats not to say that every out of warranty thing will be covered at no cost, just saying that some things are known to have been taken care of.
Demi, for christs sake, buy them and stop whining! :D

I am not saying they can sell them on the store site, but would have hurt them to try to sell them here first, I am sure someone of the older members or new participated polksters would have purchased them. I think in this case a bone for the long time members would have been in order, but I don't run Polk.

To add to this:
To be honest, I have had more help here, then anywheres else. When a noobie steps foot in Club Polk, all of us veterans become Polk sales people and Polk customer reps. For the cash?? Nope. We do it because we believe in this product and we do our best to push a good product into people's homes. We do our best to teach the newbie, who doesnt want to have to email or call a manufacture directly, about an old and new Polk product that has stood the test of time.
I truely believe, Polk, like many other manufactures, are very lucky to have some of us (forum memebers), backing thier customer service and product knowledge dept.
I , personally, have made many friends here, its almost like a home way from home. If anything else, I can come here and laugh, study or just BS with all of you.
To my point:
Do I think Polk should give us a shot first at Ebay products?? Absolutly!! Do I think they have to, nope. Will I leave or think ill of Polk, becuase of this, helllll no.
But it would be nice. And to be honest, I think Polk has nothing to loose by offering products, to us who try to help Polk in every way possible.
Makes me wonder how many sales have been made, because of us great sales people.:D:D

I think it would be cool to have an occasional "fire sale" of sorts that they list X amount of pairs of refurb LSis, X amount of RTi, etc that is for members of the forum...I'm not saying there should be a permanent discount or refurb store by any means, but the occasional "special deal" would be pretty cool...

I too would love for Polk to offer Polkies first crack at some of these products. I'm not a veteran member around here by any means, but it seems like an act of goodwill like this towards us would be appreciated by all.
I'm frankly tired of going to eBay and finding that I just missed out on a pair of Lsi25's ($999 Buy it Now) because some idiot who bids on everything has just erased "Buy it Now with his lowball opening bid. That person NEVER wins and lurks around eBay constantly destroying the Buy it Now price.
Dear Polk Audio, please offer the Polk Forum members your refurbed Lsi25's and I can almost guarantee they will sell quickly. You can always post them on eBay if they don't. A post on your own forum can't be very expensive.

does "buy it now" really get erased on some auctions by bids? Never seen that before. I've done buy it now on lots of stuff that has bids on it already. Do you have to set up the auction a certain way for that to happen?

Check out Polk's auctions. They have a Buy it Now price until the first bid and then the option disappears.
I'd say , for those wanting Polk to offer them here first, to give them a call and at least ask what they could do for you individually for a refurbed pair you want. They have the greatest customer service, they may just surprise ya. Couldn't hurt, right?

Very true. I plan on calling them after the holiday cash squeeze.

Its the seller's option to leave Buy It now through the entire auction or end BIN with the first bid. Polkdirect has (or has had) it both ways depending on the items. And actually a lot of the recent postings are BIN only with no bidding. Sometimes you just ahve to have patience.

Refurbished speakers via Polk Direct still come with 5 year warranty. Refurbished electronics/powered subwoofers/HT systems/miDock/etc come with 180 days.
