Was pleasantly pleased to listen to the upper tier Def Tech towers...

Probally some of the most seamless front to back staging I have heard in a theater setup to date... if only the center had been under the TV and 2 or 3 clicks lower, it would of been better...

Vienna Acoustics they carry there look pretty sweet, but just can't get into clear plastic cones for my woofers... lol

Finally saw the Super Mythos towers...

They look very stout, but overall kind of "cheap" looking... was not impressed with the styling at all on those.

Did you get to see a projector setup as well?

Down in Charlotte or out in the boonies? I didn't know we had one down here.

Theres a new Magnolia/BB on the George W Liles exit --- in the new Afton Ridge shopping center...

They don't have alot to choose from -- but some higher priced Vienna Acoustics and Martin Logan stuff... but nothing uber nice...

The Def Tech BP7002 was great in the HT demonstration I heard...

I'd be interested in getting a listen on with the Vienna Acoustics. I have heard from a trusted source that their old school speak's are the shizznit and a must hear. I know this has no bearing on the current line up, but my interest is still perked.

Vienna Acoustics apparently paired up with Scan Speak to design their drivers, so they gotta be somewhat good ;)

I stopped in and listened to the Martin Logan's yesterday too. Highs were brilliant, the bottom was too boomy.

Interesting take.

I was extremely underwhelmed by Vienna. Not only were they expensive and plain looking, but they sounded like crap.

DT towers are good speakers, granted (I turned a friend on to those), but they have very limited application and strict placement and calibration requirements. They wouldn't have worked in my set up. The cloth-all-the-way-around the speaker is kind of unattractive. My wife nixed the speaker right there because of that.

As for the Mythos towers, I thought their styling was really cool. That was one of the reasons I had them on my "short list" with Polk RTi, LSi, and KEF.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I auditioned those Veinna Acoustics bookshelves in Magnolia, powered by a Pioneer Elite receiver. Playing Mozart Concerto's, they were pleasant to listen to, have a nice soundstage, bass really not too bad for a pair of bookshelves. Plus those bookshelves are 4 ohm speakers, I am sure a bit more power from a dedicated amp would make them sound even better.

The BP7002 is a wonderful speaker, probably my next choice up from the BP10B's.
