I want to move to a low output cartridge, but I don't want to buy one until I can confirm it works in my house.....

I've heard that they might be a problem where there's high RF signals. We live around 1,000 ft away from a 750 ft antenna. I know there's a lot of RF in my basement.....when I had tubed preamps and I wanted to listen to the radio, I just needed to get a finger "close" to a tube and I could listen to the radio; my body served as an antenna I guess.

So if you have an old low output (0.5 mv or less) MC cartridge that you could let go for a week or so, please let me know. I'l pay for shipping annd will just install it and see how it works.

Here's a picture for your enjoyment

I've got a Goldring Eroica that's not in use at the moment. Not certain of version or it's condition; it was a 'deal sweetener" when I bought a turntable a few years back and I've never had a need to hook it up.

I'd be happy to send it to you if it would fit your needs.

Ricardo, I'm glad you have 250' between you and that needle in the event it ever falls.

There's a low and high output version...doesn't it have anything that says which it is? (And, thanks for the offer!!!)

I know; if that thing ever falls it's going to be ugly.

I don't recall seeing anything on there to indicate which version it is. When I get home this evening I'll look again and see which it is.

Sounds good; if you find no way of identifying it, I'll give it a try anyway; 50% chance is not too bad :)
