So today I got a notification while in my first class that my Jolida JD-9a arrived safely at my house. Like a little girl on christmas morning I couldn't wait to get home.

So, after having no clue how to set it up even after reading the directions a couple times, I finally figured it out.

I'm listening to my first few albums through it now.......WOW. The music has bass! The music has clarity! It's freaking amazing.

The Jolida JD-9a replaced my crappy Aiwa receiver which i was using the Tape Monitor out on. Talk about a weak link. I knew it was a weak link, but I just didn't realize how much of a weak link it was.

Can't wait till the new table gets here......if this gets better I'm gonna poop myself. Sorry no pics of that.

My Nordost cables are back at Nordost right now being reterminated and fixed.

Congrats. Enjoy that vinyl.

I miss it....my Pro-ject found a new home this weekend and the new one will not be here until late this week or early the next one. I didn't think I'd miss it for just one week.

My new table is very very close.....nothing compared to what you are getting, but should serve me well for a while.

Gotta pay off the new table first. Speakers are on the list. You really need to hear the Quarts now. The bass is doesn't even compare to what we heard the other day. Easily beats the 9's out in that department now.

This is definitely one of those pieces that I can't recommend enough. It just put a whole new face on my vinyl, bigger difference than any cables, isolator, tube rolling, that you could possibly imagine.

Atleast this will hold me over till I can make a decision about a CDP. The tube phono sounds great but I'm afraid that the tube CDP will sound too washed.

Russ sent me some 12ax7's that I should have by Friday so I'm going to start rolling some tubes this weekend between the integrated and this phono stage(probably not right away). I'm definitely feeling a nice synergy here.

Such a cute wittle phono!

Enjoy the new sound m'lady. This is just the beginning. My advice? Lock up the wallet and start putting cash away in a trust fund for the next 5 years - just as insurance. Once the bug bites, its game ovah! Your wallet will be saying no, but your ears will be saying yes.

If you want 'em, I've got a pair of 10Bs that I would be willing to let go for a good price. The X-overs need to be redone and you'd prolly want RD0s...

Oh wait, I'm not helping am I:o

Haha yea, and those were just my extras, nevermind what I still use in my home theater. I need to move further up th ladder. If I buy any Polk speakers for this rig they won't be anything less than SDA/LSi

My biggest conclusion so far.....good, clean vinyl is like WOW, absolutely amazing. Dirty/scratched vinyl is that much worse.

Hoping I can try out a JD100a next to see how I like it in the mix.

BL,,I jumped in this thread kinda late,,congrats on the Jolida,, is it stock? Reason I ask is because I'm thinking about upgrading my dynavector p-75, so I'll let you get some ear time with it before I ask. Congrats and enjoy.

Yep stock. I couldn't justify buying a modded one since I had never heard a stock one before. I needed something to set as a baseline. I will mod this one in time. The only mods it will have are new tubes when the box from Russman comes this week.

Dude... You just moved from a rusty shack in and married to a cousin to a beachside villa on some exotic island with several female "companions", well, my fantisy would be a little bit weirder, and might raise some eyebrows, but I am assuming that most guys wouldn't mind the beachside villa thing, so that is my comparison.

Anyway, nice CDP, I hear nothing but good things about the Jolida.

IT's because I am a moron. I got the Jolida model number wrong. In the opening post, it did not explicitly say that it was a phono stage, so I misunderstood. I did not think Aiwa minisystems even had a phono stage, I remember the aiwa fad very well, and I am not sure I ever saw one with a phono stage. That is where I was confused. I naturally assumed that it was the CD changer you were using based on the brand (aiwa).

Jolida makes a really good CD player that is also raved about. So, again, since I did not know aiwa had anything with a phono stage, I thought you were talking about the Jolida CDP.

I was wondering why I did not see it in your photos.

http://www.jolida.com/catalogue/images/JD100A_big.jpg

I shrugged it off though, because again, I did not think aiwa had anything with a phono stage.

Hopefully tomorrow pending receivement of Russman's package I'll be able to roll in some tubes. Also waiting for a call back from spearit sound regarding a turntable I am interested in. Hopefully all goes as planned and it will be a good weekend.
