Yeah that cone did burn real hot. We weren't expecting that. I did loose some hair on my knuckles when I had to move it.

Did you put anything on that to help it along, or is that just pure 120v?

So that would be about 1800 watts at 60 hz. There are some drivers that may handle the task.

I didn't, but dry paper cone, and what appear to be some sort of lacquer=fast flame that stinks!!! Lacquer has been used by many to stiffen a cone, and preserve it in humid environments. It took a long time to burn completely out. Surprised the crap out of me, and my buddy.

Well good times. I would have never though about doing that, but that is awesome! What would happen if one were to do that with a tweeter...

The tweeter will go *pop*.

Have an electronic approved extinguisher handy! Class C, I think.

I'm aware of the pop and the mysterious blue smoke (let's just say a bad experience on an old pair of speakers), but I am interested in what the visuals would be with that much power. You are guessing fire ShinAce? Is ferrofluid flammable?

I accept your challenge:D
I'm thinking vintage Fishers in series. Hopefully series will give a little lifetime under 120vac. The 60hz is going to make short work of it, but I am hoping for a cone to shoot off:)

I thought you put gasoline on the second one!!

Dude don't give me any ideas:eek:
