Haven't been around in a while, but I've been plotting......:D

I've come up with a grand scheme for the several pairs of speakers I've assembled and to make a long story short one part of four revolves around my treasured 7B's. Right now the 7's are being pushed by a Carver PM-175 through an Adcom GFP-555II. I'm liking the results of the preamp. I'd like to put a pair of Adcom 565's on the 7B's. Would these be overkill for this class of speaker? Anyone have experience with this pairing?

Yes, it's overkill for that setup but if you move beyond Polk at some point, you'll have enough power for just about anything.

I don't believe in overkill. If you have it, play it, makes an improvement & sounds good, than overkill is just SOMEONE ELSE'S non-counting opinion.

You can never have too much headroom. I wouldn't mind a pair of 500 watt monoblocks. :D
