I'm going to regret this one, I'm sure. Local boys only for now (dfw area) - if someone REALLY wants it shipped, email me and we can start a dialogue.
Signet SP200/II Powered Subwoofer
This is a LARGE, powerful subwoofer. It has been my reference subwoofer in a 2ch music system for over 3 years. Features a pulp paper 15 inch driver with high roll surround, front ported enclosure, REMOTE volume and gain control - and the volume and gain controls are also mounted on front the unit which makes tuning a breeze. 200 watt continuous, rated 3db down at 19Hz.
This sub has never so much as burped - the excursion is CRAZY and it will roll through Jurassic Lunch with EASE. Marks on the bottom, but everything else is superb. Grill included, remote included - I might have the manual SOMEWHERE, no promises.
$400 local pickup. Picture attached from prior 2ch setup at my abode, updated pics this weekend.

I need a sub but I'm nowhere near Texas.
I'll take it if you're willing to ship and if shipping doesn't cost me a kidney.

E - The subwoofer is like 80 lbs.....keep that in mind. I would decide which pinky you like the least now. Local pickup is naturally preferred.
Where are you Texans?

E better go ahead and start carving out the kidney- Pinky barely covers the fuel surcharge these days.
I had the pleasure of hearing that particular 2-ch rig and it was awesome, sub included - Radii 211 monos driving Dire Straits through the Fred arrays-
A whopping, what, 8wpc? And it'd blow your hair back.
Sorry, not trying to derail the FS thread. I was impressed. Who wound up with those amps?

E, I'll get a quote tomorrow and shoot you a pm. I'm a big dude and I remember bringing it home in the original box. I couldn't get it out of the original box without just cutting the box down all four sides. I barely got it out of the car and into the house. It's not just the weight, it's the shear size too, you just can't wrap your arms around it.
Jason, FredV got the Radii MMS-211's. 12 watts, single ended. If I ever get some bills paid, I'd like to buy them back from him. HINT HINT FRED.

I finally got the signet subwoofer from Russ. Thanks for carefully packing the sub.
Do you want the bed sheet back?
Here's my 1st impression:
This beast is huge! Build quality is excellent considering this is a subwoofer made in 1997.
The subwoofer uses a high excursion woofer which measures 13.5 inches, it is made of treated paper with a thick walled butyl surround.
The sub has front mounted remoted controlled motorized volume and frequency control. It even has heavy duty adjustable floor spikes.
I just plugged in the sub to my new Onkyo pro pre/pro along with my polk rt5000p system and thus far all i have to say is wow! Even with both rt-5000p subs and the mini subs in the center speaker ( cs-1000), this subwoofer was able to add more low frequency information. I previously was using a paradigm ps-1200 subwoofer (12 inch woofer,200 watts rms, 600 peak) and the signet sub simply stomped it to death.
The rt 5000p i purchased used came with a polk psw-650 but this sub was such an under achiever i just decided to sell it.
Without running audissey, i did some minor adjustments and then tested the sub with a few selections from The Gladiator soundtrack. I quickly sensed a change in air pressure that was lacking before. This sub is able to go down to the lower octaves like my srt subs can.
I then proceeded to use a copy of a test dvd given to me by sal (lasareath) containing some low frequency test tones and some samples from different movies highlighting lower bass. I tested this dvd before plugging in the signet sub and then after. Once again i was astonished at how low this sub can play.
At a certain point while playing this demo, i literally had my bedroom shaking from the bass to the point where my downstair neighbor got angry and kicked my car causing my car alarm to go off.
As of now i'm completely satisfied at this purchase and i hope i can keep pissing off my downstair neighbor.
If you ever want to evaluate your audio system, I highly recommend you play at low to moderate levels the soundtrack to Dark City. The dynamic range recorded on this disc is extremely difficult to reproduce. This disc will be my ultimate test for this subwoofer once audissey levels and the crossovers are set.
