... I need new music: mostly for running but also for a full gym workout... I need some suggestions as I'm tired of listening to the same old stuff. I tend to buy stuff on itunes, not really wanting to mess my computer with the pirate programs.......

I don't know if you can stand it, but house/trance is great to listen to if you want to focus on the beats etc........probably better with something like biking than lifting weights, as someone lifting weights to 90 bpm music would be an interesting sight.............lol

I like Pendulum - Hold your Colour for cardio. when I lift I listen to nothing, the stupid headphones get in the way.

WHen you lift run the headphone wires under your T-shirt, that way they won't be dangling everywhere.

Just off the top of my head and in no particular category...
"Start the Commotion"
by The Wiseguys
from The Antidote
"Born Too Slow"
by The Crystal Method
from Legion of Boom
"Head Like a Hole"
by Nine Inch Nails
from Pretty Hate Machine
"Du Hast"
by Rammstein
from The Matrix Soundtrack
"Headhunter"
by Front242
from Front by Front
Try them out on youtube first. What sounds good to me may sound like Banshees mating to you.

Anything fast beat and up tempo should do the trick. Some good rock, techno, hip-hop should do the trick.

yeah -- if you're interested in workout Songs .....for gym music or music for fitness in general, I recommend European dance music.......
it's always the best motivational tool for me...
.... here's a compilation series on iTunes that I recommend -- the "Euro Club Hits" series:

I just run the wire behind my head. Doesn't really get in the way.
The music I listen to is a lot of popular stuff at the gym with good beats but it does wear thin quickly. I always have to find new stuff to get motivated so this is a helpful thread.
Madonna's new album is coming out soon so I will throw that in the mix for sure.

He he he... I like listening to hip-hop/rap music with a hard beat because it keeps me moving and motivated. Plus, if you listen to some of the hardcore stuff, it makes you feel BA while you're gettin' your swell on.
PS. Other than the gym I don't listen to hip-hop; weird how that works isn't it.

anything from rage against the machine will typically get you fired up.
Edit: Yeah, anything from Rocky soundtracks is good. Orgy has some good songs, Saliva, even some disturbed.

I'd figure that "Deltron 3030 - Positive Contact" would be a good one once you are already fired up. It all depends on taste.

My workout tunes seem to be stuff like Ted Nugent, Motley Crue, AC/DC, GnR, etc.

I also like to listen to a lot of Englebert Humperdinck.

Listening to music when I workout distracts me. If I could have it completely quiet, I would. No idea how people can train with music blarring in their ears.

I haven't ever done the iPod while working out at a gym (a place I rarely am), but when I'm biking, walking, or blading, it's a requirement.

Here are some of my favorites:
"Bodies" by Drowning Pool
Just about anything by Rise Against
Anything off the Dragline album by Paw (hard to find, but maybe it's on iTunes)

yea, for workout music, you basically need hard-hitting euro-dance music.... nothing else does the job really. Search around on iTunes for "euro club hits" or check this link:
