Well one of the tenants here gave me a Technics SL20 tt. Now I have 2. I am going to see which one is better, and will be doing a karma again soon. It looks like this, but DD, and some scratches.

I'm not a gear snob, but that looks like the sort of thing you'd get for free with your subscription to Popular Mechanics.
Doro, for $20 I'll set his TT on fire.

They are about $180 new. For someone wanting something to check out their vinyl it would make a nice Karma;)

I'd be laughing all the way to the bank. Free is free no matter what it looks like. :p
Put a $100 cartridge on it and put on your smoking jacket and sunglasses

that's not a bad looking table... if your's looks anything like that.. spend a few nickels on a new cart and stylus and spin some vinyl
although the lid on any one of my turntables probably weighs more than your whole TT :p

I am lol'ing now.
I'll check Youtube tomorrow...
True story: I once picked up an SL-BD20 on the swap pile at our town dump. Never succeeded in finding a home for it, so I decided to take it back to the swap pile. The dump operator guys made me put it in the giagantic trash compactor -- they wouldn't let me leave it on the "take it or leave it" pile (from whence it had come)!?! Free is always hard to pass up, but it's not exactly world-class.

Congrats Ben. Trust me I started with a Karma TT and now I am in trouble. Wait till Joe helps you out with some ideas. LOL

I think my ex has that TT. It smells like fire and brimstone.
I have one of those in my basement somewhere.
