I recently purchase RTIA7 with A6 center and FX6 rears for our new family room. Needless to say I finally found a real sound system!
I would like to change my old living room system and need your help in finding new speakers.......
I have a OKAY receiver which will be upgraded in the near future but I currently want to work on the speaker "status". Current speakers are the Bose Acoustimass 3 for fronts and Series 2 for rears, dual base modules. I have never been happy with these speaker. Highs are ok, no middle and base is marginal. When listening to music, if you turn it up it just gets loud, unlike the RTIA7s which just makes the music sound closer. In home theater mode, the system just sucks, I'm totally unable to understand the movie's dialogue and sound affects are lame.
Short of buying more RTIA7s, A6 center and FX rears - I'm open to suggestions. To be honest I'm not sure the wife would allow large speakers in the living room. The current Bose speakers are pre-wire behind the ceiling and mounted at ceiling height. I am hoping for re-use of the wiring and locations.
Any suggestion would be helpfull!
Thanks!
Rick
