It took me forever to figure out why I wasn't getting the tweeter to work with my Lsi15. I checked all the connections, the amps, the cables... Hooked up my Rti10's that I have for Rears and the tweets work fine. I unscrewed the tweet on the 15 and hooked up the cables directly to it and it works fine. I also checked the binding post and unscrewed it to make sure everything was still connected properly- no problems there. The wierdest thing is that both tweeters went out at the same time last night on both of my 15's. I hooked them back up today and now one of them works.

So basically my question is, is it possible to order new crossovers for the Lsi's? Also, does polk have local service centers? (I live in Seattle)

I find it wierd that the crossover would be the first thing to go. I wasn't even cranking them that hard. Anyone ever had this problem?

Sounds like a loose connection/solder joint, since after messing with the wiring, one side now works. You obviously aren't afraid to explore, so I would look into all connections carefully before laying out $$$ for parts.

Polk will ask for return of parts for repair if under warranty.

I doubt the problem is your crossovers. More than likely, your AVR clipped and took out the tweeters. Why one works now, I'm not sure. Anyway, swap the working tweeter for the non-working one. If the tweeter works, you know one have one bad tweeter and not a crossover problem.

Yeah, I have one. What do you suggest?

I know the tweeters are good. I looks like all the solder joints are good as well.

Test across the speaker terminals for resistance.

Don't do that again. Full range signals will kill most tweeters VERY quickly.

I tested the tweeter terminals and got 5ohms for both sets of speakers (left and right).

Don't know if having an LSi15 crossover schematic (http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38755)will help you or not, but thought I would offer this up....

BTW - LSi series is all the way at the bottom of the thread....
