Hello

I'm currently remodeling our basement in the farm house and would like to set up my old Pioneer system to play my vinyl again. The SX-950 needs some TLC, the power switch is very hard to move and if I remember there was some static in the knobs when you turned them.

I live out in a very rural area so there isn't anyone around that could do some restoration work on it so was wondering if you guys knew of anyplace I could send it to get worked on?

Thanks

I'd start out with some Deoxit. Easily had at Radioshack. Douse the controls and work them back and forth, let it air out for a bit and see if it improves. It's amazing what a little cleaning can do to old knobs and switches.

Will that help with the static sound in the knobs too?

DeoxIT FaderLube is recommended for that. It's usually in a green bottle.

I believe I've only come across the regular DeoxIT and DeoxIT Gold at Rat Shack. PartsExpress.com carries the FaderLube and just about every other kind of DeoxIT.
