Does anybody use stuff like this anymore for home audio? Or any type of tape machine at all anymore?

i have owned two of those, and they both died. one was a not-so-nice sony unit with built-in amp and speakers, lol. that thing had issues from the day i got it. i also had a much nicer tascam unit for awhile, but it needed some work to get back to awesomeness. i was struggling at the time, and had a close and interested friend. i do still have about 30 various reels collecting dust and (probably) getting brittle and shedding oxide, or whatever old-azzed tapes do when they self-destruct from disuse and age.
titles like jerry butler: the ice man cometh, chicago transit authority (the first one), quicksilver messenger service: just for love, and canned heat: future blues. are people still interested in these things? maybe i should off them to someone that will spin them instead of ruining them by keeping as relics of the good old daze.

I had a Teac X2000RBL back in the day. It had a coolness factor of 10. It was later sold when I started putting music on hi-fi VHS (mid 1980's).

I have 2 cassette decks still in use. 1 dual well on my main system and a single well vintage Akai deck in the bedroom. I was listening to some Time-Life classical last night on cassette as a matter of fact.

Well, I for one enjoy looking and this is no exception. Vintage and impressive the condition of that stuff. :)

I love reel to reel decks....I own 6 and have over 400 reels. As far as cassettes, I still have 4 top notch machines and enjoy them as well!

If that's a coolness factor of 10, Mhardy's Pioneer goes to 11 :D
