It's really bad; I wouldn't pay $10 for them.

The sound quality is dependent on the masters and most of CCR's stuff wasn't mastered all that well. The SACD's sound better than the redbook versions, but are by no means reference type material.

Thanks Jesse for the input. I have Chronicles 1 and 2 and agree the sq on those arn't that great. Still, I'm a die hard fan for CCR and look forward to getting these. If the super audio versions sound better than the redbooks then it's worth it to me.

Yes, I was kidding; have not heard them. Hope SQ is as high as the price ;)

No worries there, they do. I agree with F1 though, definitely not the best in my SACD collection.

The SACD's sound way better than the original or remastered CCR cd's. Steve Hoffman mastered the SACD's and they sound very good, the best
CCR will ever sound on cd. I have Willie and the Poorboys and Cosmo's Factory on SACD and love them.

This is he lowest price I found for the set. Amazon's price was 300.00+ and acoustic sound's price was 250.00 and change. I'll post my thoughts on these once I get them. Thanks all.

I'll give Steve Hoffman the benefit of the doubt here, since he is very meticulous that he can do justice to the artist's original work. I always thought CCR pumped up their mid bass. Fogerty never had what you would call an operatic voice with soothing tenor falsetto. My knee jerk reaction would be like Jesse's.

However, B&N has some 40% off coupons out there for Mother's day. See if you can use it and it might be a good deal. CCR stuff takes me back to my youth, has floor taping rhythm, and is some good original material. Definitely a style all his own.

Rock on CCR! Rock on with your badself!

Well, this came in today and I agree with the assessment, not the best SACD has to offer but I'm still happy with my purchase. The sound quality is definitely better than what I have on redbook. Nice box set w/full size color booklet. (Easy on the eyes for us glaucoma patients.) For me, it's a keeper. :)
