Clapton is (unfairly) always going to be compared against Jimi, but he sure can play a mean guitar and he hasn't lost a step.

Why "unfairly" compared Ted? I think both were completely different, and both rose to the top of their game. Clapton the true blues traditionalist/disciple. Hendrix, the crazy black dude with a headful of incredible music, loosely based in the blues, that he somehow managed to translate through the guitar. It's just that Jimi was the ONLY person in his particular category. I saw Prince during the Super Bowl half-time show last year, and he was trying to be Jimi, but it didn't work out for him.

Thats actually my point George. People love to rank guitarists and Clapton seems to frequently be considered "second best" guitarist to Jimi. They are different and each superb in their own right.
