Hi,

I am new in here. I found this forum after I got a pair of RTi10 (not the 2008). I am very happy with it. I even got new speaker cable for it. My receiver is a Harman Kardon with output as 1 sub, 1 rear (2 speaker), 1 center, 2 front (A and B, 4 speakers).

My question are:

1-since I have only 1 pair of speaker for the front, is it possible to hook both connection A and B to one pair of speaker? The idea is to get more power to 1 pair of speaker instead of getting another pair.
(no biamping no biwring, just double the output power)

or:
2-Unbridge the speakers, hook output A to the top connector and hook the output B to lower connector? (biamping - the A drive midrange and high the B drive low bass)

or:
3- use #1 and biwring (red A and B connected to RED posts, black A and B connected to BLACK posts - double the power and biwiring)

anyone try it yet?

thanks in advance for any help,

Thats a good question and I see why you want to do that. Its sort of like Biamping the speakers.More power and the benifits of biamping.I LIKE IT. Are there 4 binding posts on the speakers. You should get some biamp cables.

You're not doubling anything and that's all ghetto rigging at best.

You can do a search on here to find loads of information, but the basic fact here is that the receiver only has a fixed amount of power to output to your speakers so you're not going to get any more power using any of the methods you described. You can bi-wire using the A+B to the top/bottom posts (your options #2), and some people feel that it makes a difference. I personally wouldn't attempt #1 because it seems risky, but it may work (although you'll still not get more power).

IMO your best option is to remove the jumpers on the speakers and replace them with speaker wire. Then use the traditional wiring method from receiver to speaker.

Hook em up normal and listen.... (you can try to replace the jumpers on the speakers with some short lengths of dececent speaker wire as mentioned, but it is not required)

If you decide you want more power (and your AVR has pre-outs) get a nice 2 channel amp. They can be had for not alot of money and will usually yeild excellent results. (if willing to go used)

Good luck and welcome to club polk. - Out of curiosity, just experimenting or having an issue you are trying to resolve with more power?
