View Full Version : Concerns about LimeWire

I think LimeWire might have screwed up my computer. Is LimeWire known to infect computers with Spyware or any of that crap like Kazaa did? My Norton right now is telling me that my computer is totally fine and there's no viruses or trojans and my Spyware blocker is telling me there's no concerns. I've also got something called the Windows Defender. I recently even added an additional strip of 512MB RAM and it's still a piece of crap. Is LimeWire the culprit? I was thinking about getting another computer anyways before this happened. All I've got right now is a Sony Vaio laptop and I wanted a nice desktop. I found a really nice HP Media Center with an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 4 gig of RAM, 750 gig hard drive. And before I pay $950 for this I have to know the deal of LimeWire. I really like LimeWire a lot. It's where I get all my music and my "other" forms of entertainment. LOL! So what's up with it?

Piracy is the culprit. Buy your media.

+1. ANY music you could possibly want to hear is on You Tube, for FREE. And there's plenty of free porn.

I can't tell you how many times I've received emails from parents asking what is wrong with their family computer. About 90% of the time they answer yes to my question if their kids are using LimeWire. My recommendation is always the same. Nuke and repave the hard drive, then ban your child from using LimeWire. Download and install AVS antivirus software.

Limewire is a horrible horrible program, that will infect the most protected of computers.
1)Get rid of it
2)go through your add and remove programs and make sure there are no weird programs on the list
3)Spybot your computer first, then run your anti-virus after Spyybot
4)Pray your computer is back to the same
5)DONT GO AND DOWNLOAD BEARSHARE....same thing will happen.
Oh and BTW, on LimeWire is crawling with the RIAA, and movie industry hounds. (Bearshare also) Not a very good place to hang out.

Limewire, Kazza, Bearshare or any of those PTP sharing programs are DEATH for computers. Avoid them all!
