Monitor 4 or 5Jr+

I currently have a pair of RDO Monitor 5Jr+, but a pair of Monitor 4s have just presented themselves to me. I currently use my 5Jr+ for near-field listening on my computer rig with my tubes. Can someone give me some incite to the sound on the Mon 4 since I have never heard them? I feel that the 5Jr+ are better, but I wouldn't want to miss a good deal...:p

You are correct. The 5Jr.+ especially with the RD0's is a fuller sounding speaker. Depending on what Mon 4 you are looking at it has an inferior tweeter; one driver and a small port. Your 5 Jr + has a passive radiator and gives a much fuller sound.

Keep what you have.

5 jrs are better sounding all round I have 2 sets of 4s one set of 4.6 and 1 set of jrs. The jrs have more detail from the midbass up . for the right price I buy 4s all day I troll ebay looking for them quite abit gettting good deals for my kids and friends on a budget and just getting into the home stereo stuff.

Ya that's what I thought, thanks. These 4s have the SL1500 like you were saying, and I do love my RDO 5Jr+. I am amazed day after day at the sound they put out with the silk domes; I don't think there is a better value.
