hi all,

I have to give to my son my HK-AVR receiver...

Anyone can recommend me an Amp or a Receiver that I will use with a pair of RTi10 + a powered subwoofer... (not necessary home theater or surround system but it's OK). I use mainly for music listening, not a lot of movies

thanks for any suggestion,

This topic is covered almost on a weekly basis on this forum. Do a thread search for a wealth of info.

If I were going that route,,I'd look for a good tubed entry level pre,, and a ss power,,B&K,Parasound,Adcom,,or a C-J tube/ss or ss setup. If you look around,,you can get most ,if not all here,,but first you'll need a minumum post limit in order to participate in the flea market. Good luck,,and have fun.

Since you are really only interested in music, I would just get a separate preamp & separate amp & be done with it.

Check out Outlaw audio for their combos, as well as Rotel, Parasound, Nad, Adcom, B & K, etc.

Since you were looking for more power for from your receiver, get an amp in the 150 - 200wpc range and enjoy.

2 major questions before we can be much help - What is your total budget (for an AVR, amp/pre, and any cables) and are you willing to purchase used?

thanks for the replies,

my budget is min $500/max 1K (can be adjusted up if there is a deal).. preferably used/demo/discontinued - I am looking at:

1- receiver/amp (I need FM radio)

2 - preamp/amp combo and a tuner

3 - preamp + amp + tuner

I have a pair of RTi10 and a pair of RTiA8 + one subwoofer

I am not interested in a 5 or a 7 channel set up...

if someone come across something please let me know. I am searching on my side too.

thanks again,

No Affiliations.

Ive recently went similiar (its smaller brother the 1701A, which has half the output) and I couldnt be happier with it. Also has the sub out that you need. And if its anything like the 1701 it should respond very well from tube rolling, which can be fun to find your sound.

Add a tuner and a decent set of ic's and you'll have a nice little setup within your budget.
