Yesterday Tom (Treitz3) posted a link to a place that creates Custom made front panels.
http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/index.php?id=1
I downloaded their software this morning and unscrewed one of my crossovers from my 1.2tl's and took out a ruler and started to take off dimensions and I created a cad drawing in their program.
I sent in the order for one panel first, the total price with shipping was $46.96, not too bad.
The only thing i'm not sure about is the T handles, I want to get these reproduced as well, I sent them an email with some photos of the T handle and I'm waiting their reply if they can reproduce them as well.
My Ultimate plan is to bring these to PF this year and have Matt Polk sign the front of them. WOOT!!!! That would be awesome!!!!
I'll keep you all updated.

Every once in a while I pull things out of my well hidden magic hat. Not too often, but when it happens, it happens. Glad to have helped Sal. ;)
Enjoy.

Oh, if there is any silk screening to be done, I have a hookup for that as well. LMK....

Thanks Tom, I think I want to bring them to polk fest and have Mr. Polk sign them. either with his name or "Polk SRS 1.2TL"
Whatever he wants to do. maybe if they turn out OK I will order a bunch, maybe Karma off a pair.
I may need some anodizing. I just realized that the edges are not anodized.
If they can make the T handles then I think we can have new crossovers plates for around $80 to $100 each which won't be so bad. There are many people who have plum colored ones who may want a pair of black ones.

Here it is, it just arrived!
And it came with a bag of gummi bears :)
I'm going to take apart one crossover and see how it fits right now.

It's a little strange, when I use the flash from my camera on the new crossover plate it comes up blue. But to the naked eye it is clearly black.
I also sanded down the top of the middle screw and re-painted it with black automotive touch up paint
But everything fits just fine, it cost me $46.71 for one plate. I'm ordering another one right now.

Looks good, but very plain. I would think on a custom job you might have tricked it up a little bit - don't they do custom lettering / engraving too - or does that jack the price of the project up too high?
Cheers,
Russ

Nice pieces! A custom silk screen job on those would look awesome as suggested above; then again, so would a Polk signature!

I hear ya, it does look a little plain without anything on it. I only ordered one so far, I wanted to see what it looked like before getting both.
This company does not do any lettering or silk-screening, I'd really like to get them signed my Mr. Polk
I just can't decide if I want them in gold glitter marker or just black sharpie. With black sharpie you'll have took really look at it to see what it says.
Maybe I can find a African padouk Marker ;)
By the time PF comes around I should have a few spares to test out with different colored markers to see which looks better.

A gold Sharpie looks very nice on anodized black.

I think you're correct Mark,
Right now I'm looking at it from across the room and a gold glitter signature would look really cool I think.

maybe:
"matthew polk" across the top of the panel &
"SRS 1.2TL" on the bottom portion

How about, "To Sal, please don't visit Polk HQ again or I'll have you arrested. - MSP"

At least there's a "please" in there!
