You gotta love this forum!

There are a hundred internet forums where I can go for the mundane and repetetive stuff like:

- I have $2K to spend on speakers what should I buy?

- Brand XXX vs Brand YYY...Your opinion please.

- My $50 homemade set of speakers sounds better than any speakers costing $10,000.

- I have a $20,000 one of a kind phono cartridge but it just doesn't bring out the depth in my music. How much more do I need to spend?

- I wish I was as rich as George Lucas and could spend all my time with movies and expensive audio gear...but I'm not...so lets bash him.

All of these topics get rehashed ad nauseum.

ONLY at CLUB POLK did we have the RuSsMaN, TroyD, Mantis, Liv4fam pissing contest tag team smackdown death match. This was theatrical audio wrestling at its finest! This had all of the elements...Good guys/Bad guys, protagonist/antagonist, crowd favorites/the ones you love to hate, taunting/retaliation, preaching/pleading, talking smack/whining. We even had the spectators/wanabes jump in the ring from time to time for a few well timed body slams and folding chair head bashes. Both sides had their fans. The referees (Micah/Justin) would occasionally show up to get a couple of min. of face time but no one paid any attention or cared. The entertainment value was off the charts! Great...Stupid...but Great nonetheless. It appears that we have new world title belt holders as a pair has announced their retirement (again). Who knows when they will come flying into the ring again with the deadly sleeper hold to continue the saga.

Only on the Net! Vince McMahon would be proud!

(btw - where were all of the babes?)

Man, I'd like to think I never really *pissed* anywhere. I call it like I see it, and if I think someone is full of shit, well, I'm gonna let them know. (esp if they are giving advice to a newbie)

Dan isn't THAT bad, but his little buddy Liv4fam has had bad juju written all over him since day one. He came in swinging at multiple members since post one, and I felt the need to keep him in check. Right? Wrong? I don't really give a F. ;)

I agree verbatim with Russ.

If I got something to say, I say it. However, I don't believe, as I told Dan on AIM that if two people disagree that it has to be personal or that it has to degenerate into a namecalling match. If we all agreed on everything, it would be boring. Hell, there are a lot of people that I disagree with that I think the world of.

Anyway, in the spirit of Christmas, I'd like to suggest everyone take a deep breath, let bygones be bygones etc etc. C'mon guys, it's an audio forum, let's try and utilize it for what it is. Learn, laugh and enjoy the camraderie. I really don't want an US vs. THEM mentality in here. I personally have benefited greatly from this forum, I've met some lifelong friends through the forum and learned a lot. This forum is a GOOD thing, let's not turn it into another non-stop screaming match.

I should probably apologize for the other thread. Sometimes you can only do the 'dance' for so long until ya can't any more. My intention wasn't entirely to be as hostile as I think that I did, so if I torqued anyone, I do apologize for that.

I will still call people on their stuff, but I'll try to be a bit more tactful about it in the future.

Personally, I see no need to apologize. I think that most folks concur whole heartedly with the spirit of what you said. I certainly do.

Sure, we could all use a little more diplomacy, I suppose but hey, we all go off on a rant from time to time.
