The two closest ones are at:

13600 Wolfe Road, New Freedom (Shrewsbury), PA (38 miles from Polk Headquarters)

And

1440 Handlir Drive, Bel Air, MD 21015 (37.9 miles from Polk Headquarters)

The one in PA looks like it would be easier to get to, We'll just need to get onto 83 North to PA

OK, I'll bite. What's the purpose for this club? Isn't Club Polk a good enough resource as well as a good venue to discuss SDA's?

I'm being serious with my questions, what advantages will Sal's club have over the regular forum or is this just a list of who owns what, etc.?

That was kind of my take on it and why I posted the question. So far if you visit the link you see what SDA model people own. Not very exciting :p. Most of it knew already.

H9,

I did not add the ability to create groups on the Forum. Justin added it. So I can't answer why they are here.

But, as per this SDA group. I hope that eventually if somebody needs help with their existing SDA's or a newly acquired pair that they can look at the members in this group and by our descriptions decide who they should ask about a particular problem they are having.

I also would like to create a post the lists everything you would ever want to know about your SDA's with hyperlinks to the existing posts on the forum.

So if somebody asks for the Matrix of parts, it'll be there and not take somebody 20 minutes to find. We can warn them about cutting the notches in their newly acquired MW65XX's, We can explain the benefits of upgrading their tweeters.

I know you're going to say they can search for all this stuff already but I'd like to create an index of all this stuff. When somebody asks a question about SDA's then they can be directed to our group.

I'd like to eventually also make an inventory of parts, Some people may not want to contribute, but it could help New & Existing CP members, I have many spares and maybe one day I might need a MW6513 and somebody needs a MW6509 and we can trade.

Just some thoughts,

Sal

Thanks, but after looking back at the group I really don't see a way of it being feasible unless justin gives us a couple of stickys.

Justin?, Can we get some Stickys in a group?, Is there an option that allows that?

Thank You Michael, You are coming this year?

I'm getting married Sept 27th and most likely going to Mexico for like a week, So I'll be back with plenty of time to make it to PF.

Then in May or June 2009 we're going to Italy for 3 weeks. I don't want to go in October, too cold.

If you drive 40 miles to eat at a Cracker Barrel, you must not eat out much. I guess that place is gourmet in the NJ area. You can choose a place alot closer Sal.

That's the problem, the closest Cracker Barrel to my house is by Exit 5 on the NJ Turnpike, that's 1.5 hours away.

We have friends who live in Baltimore and we see them maybe every other month, When we are down there we go to Cracker Barrel every time. So, I go maybe 6 times a year.

So I have no problem driving 30 miles for Cracker Barrel.

I also like Howard Johnson for Breakfast, But I haven't been to one in Years, Usually I go when I'm in Florida.

I just picked up a pair of SDA Signature Edition speakers and a infinity video 1 center speaker for $100.00 bucks at a goodwill store. My question is where do the SDA's fall in the food chain of that model. They have two tweeters mounted side by side, four mid-range drivers and a 12" woofer. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We would need pics to give you a good answer. There were very early signature editions and later signature editions. Pics would help greatly.

There was a very early SDA 1 that has small plaque glued to the cabinet to cover up a small set of dual ports.

There was the SRS 2's; original SRS; SRS 1.2, SRS 2.3; SRS 1.2TL; SRS 2.3TL and SRS 3.1TL and finally a small compact CRS and CRS+

SRS-meaning Signature Reference Series and CRS meaning Compact Reference Series

All different fro the most part.

Is it a brass plaque glued to the cabinet? Or is it on the grill cover?

Does the brass plaque look like the photo in the first post of the following thread?

http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56768&highlight=signature

If so, those are early SDA 1A's and $100 is a pretty good buy if they work, did it come with the SDA cable to connect between the (2) speakers?

Here's another thread discussing them as well----no photo.

You'll need the interconnect cable to get the full advantage of the SDA feature. They are blade/blade configuration and both blades carry a signal. You can still get the cable from Polk customer service (I'm pretty sure). Call them and see and tell them you are member of Club Polk.

I believe if you have little ingenuity you can make one. If you do a search it's been discussed on here before.

Without the cable half the drivers won't be working and you won't get the crosstalk cancellation that the SDA was designed for.

Just want to give an update. I went back to the goodwill store that I bought the speakers from and was just looking around and noticed this cable hanging on the wall. I immediately knew that this was the interconnect cable. I explained it as best I could to the cashier and she let me have it. Good fortune does shine.
