What are the differences? I remember ATCVenom advertising a CD6 on this forum for $200 but I am looking at a CD8 on ebay right now. What is a good buy? I was looking for a better cd player for my 2 channel system but looking to stay in the $100-150 range used. I am considering some NAD's also. Any opinions about parasound or other brands to consider?

I have the CD8b, paid 175 from amchome.com for a refurb unit. Absolutely flawless and a great player. Highly recommend.

I would go with one of the older sony es or yamaha cdx series
players the are built like a tank and sound real smooth.

The CD8b will be one of your best bets. It uses the top of the line Sony Transport, and dual Burr-Brown 24bit dacs.
Cheers,
Russ
I had the older AMC CD6 player, not the CD6B. That being said, it was still an excellent unit.
Every AMC product I have tried, I highly recommend to anyone else. A great bang for the buck, along with excellent customer service.
The difference between the two is the sampling rate, but whether or not you can tell the difference is a different thing entirely.
The next dedicated cd player I get, will be AMC - no doubt.

thanks for the input. I will keep my eye on the cd8's on ebay. Any info on the carvers or rotels?

Casey, for the extra coinage, I'd go new. 175 for that unit is a great deal.
Carver cd players, I have it from a fairly reliable source, aren't much to get excited over.
