$934

A few years ago after all the hurricanes in FL and TS Allison in houston that flooded 50k homes (yes 50k homes), my HO insurance doubled from $600 something to $1200 something so I dropped my liability and contents coverage and that brought it back down to $600 something.

This year when I called my agent to review my policy, she told me rates had come back down a little so I added the liability back on and $10k of contents.

I believe we pay around $450/year for insurance. The home is worth ~ $150k.

Triple that for a 180k home in north Texas.

800 and change. Our agent recently told us we're under insured on the structure. When he told me what the structure was insured for, I realized due to appreciation that he was right.
