I just found this pair of Kappa 8s on Seattle Craigslist. They appear to be in really good condition, and could be a nice find for someone. They are a little pricey, but could probably be bartered down. I've always liked the styling on the Infinitys with the oak strips around the black cloth. No affil.

I'd like to get my ears on some. I used to be a huge Infinity fan till I got into Polk's. That being said I have never had my ears on a higher end set of Infinity's. $600 does not seem like a high asking prices. The woofer surrounds rot out real bad on those vintage Infinity's.

I have a pair of Kappa 9s and I love them. 600 isn't out of the question for them, maybe a tad steep. Awesome speaks and don't let the rotten foam disuade you, it is an easy cheap fix. The biggest thing is to make sure you have the muscle to push them around, when you do they freakin rock:cool:

those kappas have highly advance drivers during their time...EMIM/EMIT, polygraph mids, injection molded woofer w/ radial graphite fiber

For some reason, I have always preferred the Kappa 9s over the 8s. Who knows why?;)

600 is about right. 9's can bring as much as $1300.00 in good condition. I've owned both in the past, and they are a nice speaker, albiet a bit bright if not tamed with the right equipment.

I have a set of Infinity Kappa 8s. I love them and bought them brand new in 1990.
I replaced the woffers in 2002. I ran them with (2) Yamaha MX-1000 amplifiers bi-amped and they could actually take more than what is 1 ohm amp could give!
We remodeled and now I have a satelite system. "Hey, life is full of compromises"
If I found a buyer I would sell these. They are in mint condition. I already sold my amps.
