Another RDO-194 request

I'm hoping someone doesn't like their's, so I can re-do my 2Bs. Anyone with a pair lying around or a couple of folks with singles? Will swap the SL2000s if asked :).

I heard Polk is sold out of the 194. Is this true? Will there be replacements?

polk said I got the last 2 last week. Hay Ben, I need to ask you a question about the wiring of these things. I can't see a + or - on these tweeters. I don't want to wire them wrong, I sometimes get in a hurry. I'll give you a call tomorrow. Thanks Robert

There should be a red dot on them, or a + or - molded in the plastic. If its molded you have to look close. I'm up now if you want to call.

XO mods could be done by a lot of us to make the 198's work fine. It would suck for some of the newbs, and guys who can't solder. I don't see Polk raising the prices. It just isn't their way.

Hey guys I talked with Ken today about a simple mod to convert XO's to RDO198's. He gave me authorization for me to post this mod. Shoot me a PM if you need to upgrade to RDO's with the 198's instead of the 194's. The mod is super simple.

i had e-mailed polk to try to buy some 194's for my 2.3's that i'm rebuilding...but, if you can't get 194's anymore whats the mod needed ..diy and soldering not a problem...tony

You can't mod the 2.3's to use the RD0198-1 tweeter.

I'm sure Polk is getting more RD0194-1's.

Just an update...even though the 2Bs are languishing in surround mode, the RDOs are noticeably better behaved...a little soft as yet, but will for sure open up with some time. Thanks Dave and Dane for helping me out.

Sorry if this is a hi-jack but figured one of you up-graders might be able to help...
Anyone here have a spare SL 2500 they pulled after a tweeter upgrade? I need just one for a Monitor 5 JR series 2 that I plan to use as a surround speaker. Someday I plan on upgrading all my Polk Tweeters, a pair of RTA 12c's and a pair of Monitor 7c's but right now money is too tight to upgrade them all. Again if you have a spare SL 2500 (the black dome with the black foam ring around the dome) tweeter give me a heads up at abel@abelsanchez.com or a PM. I will pay for your tweeter and shipping.
