Buy my stuff, not Russ's! If you see him post a Classe transport next, don't buy it; it's mine!!! :)
Audio De Gwis is open and ready for business. 5% off shipping for the first 3 buyers.
After a couple days of listening to my new receiver, I'll post some thoughts on the B&K 507 S2 versus the incumbent, my trusty HK 635. Despite the 3X higher retail price, the results may surprise some <--that's known in "the biz" as a "cliffhanger".

What cartridge is on Music Hall MMF 2.1? Any pics?
Thanks

I'll take some pics. It has the standard factory cartridge and stylus. I think it's a Goldring Elan cartridge and a conicle stylus.

Thats a solid receiver. I had a lower model, and it had very good sound.

Buy my stuff, not Russ's!
Lil bump for Andy because all of Russ's stuff is gone again and I feel guilty.
I would like to get his Marantz SA8260 (previous for sale), but can't justify 4 CD players with only 3 systems.
Buy with Confidence from Andy, he is good people.

Sorry to hijack your thread Andy but did you ever post a review of the 507? I can't seem to find it.

Haven't posted anything yet. I've only had it for a little over a week, and unfortunately have been out of town most of that time.
I'll get my thoughts down sometime soon. It's a great piece of gear, though!
TT still available? Does it do 33 and 45? Where is the switch?
Willing to box and ship to Houston?
AndyGwis

Sure, willing to box and ship. Haven't tried 45s, but I'll check on it for you.
Besides the cracked cover, this is a great piece.

I'll keep bumping until it's sold. Sooner you start buying, the less I have to remind you to buy :)
The 5100SS is a particularly good deal, and the price on the MF A3.5 is especially juicy, and I'm practically giving away the MMF 2.1.

Turntable sold to Polkie through PM.
Musical Fidelity A3.5 and Monster HTS 5100 SS MKII still available.
They are both lovely pieces, btw.

Who has a Marantz 8260 for sale?

I had one that sold already.
Are you interested? PM me, might have a lead on another one.
Andy,
I hope you don't mind me asking you in this thread(it's still a bump), but have you heard the 8001 and 8260 side by side?
AndyGwis
07-17-2008, 04:23 PM
I have not, but I would love to. I really liked my SA8260 and have heard the 8001 is even a step up in almost all areas. Also, since I'm only interested in 2-ch, and the 8001 is strictly a 2-channel machine, it would seem like a good match. Always felt bad that the 8260 had so many outputs being unused :(
The 8001 might look slightly better, too. Not that the 8260 was bad looking, but didn't scream "high end" or have great build quality. Matched my ST-6000 tuner perfectly, but not sure that's a good thing :)
