Wii Sensor Bar

Hi,

I'd like to extend the sensor bar cable on my Wii so that it reaches from the equipment rack to the top of a projection screen. I'm planning on splicing the wire and extending it with basic 24ga. wire.

Has anyone done this before and does it work at LONG distances?

Sure, the wireless sensor bars are a great idea, but will extending the Nintendo sensor bar wire work?
