Hey y'all. I just received a CD that I ordered from amazon. This is supposed to be a SACD but the seller sent me instead a standard redbook version.
I sent the seller an email and advised him that I had purchased this expecting a SACD. Anyway, this is a first for me on amazon, so can someone please give me a heads-up on how something like this works with amazon? I don't feel like it's my responsibility to pay any shipping charges back to the seller for a refund, or even the costs to mail the CD to me initially. This is the sellers screw up. Any advice from a polkie w/experience like this is appreciated.
Thanks,
K
I had something like that happen to me before.
I emailed them and they apologized, issued me a refund, and didn't even ask for the CD back. That's customer service for you.

Make sure your receipt clearly states that you ordered a SADC, then ask them politely to send the proper item and ask if they want the return item, if they do, ask for them to send you a return shipping label.
Amazon is good folks.

petrym...There was no receipt inside w/the disc, but it is clearly listed as a SACD with the online order and item description. Also, this was purchased off of amazon but through a private vendor. Not sure if that makes a diff or not.

The private vendors still have to follow Amazon rules. Have you heard back from the seller yet?

No, not yet. I followed your suggestion also and asked politely to send correct CD and return shipping label. I'll see what happens in the next day or 2. Thanks.

I've had a couple of issues like that and it's always worked out just fine through Amazon.

Yeah, I'm sure it will all work out. I just got a little annoyed at first. Probably an honest mistake. Just waiting for the merchants response.

ebay could learn a thing or 2 from amazon. I've been dealing more on amazon lately than ebay. Think I'll continue strictly with the zon. :)
