Ok, so the folks and I are sitting in a hotel in Bridgewater, NJ at the moment. We're up here for a wedding, first time we've been this far north, so we're going to make a week of it, taking in some of the sights and sounds.
Anyways, yesterday we went back down into Pennsylvania. We took 78 to 220 and then just traveled Route 340 through the town of Intercourse, then swung back to 220.
At least, I think that's what we did. I know we traveled down Route 340, and that's where I took all these pictures.
All but about three or four of the pictures were taken from the Suburban, and then only about 5 of those were taken with it stopped, so already the odds are against getting any good pictures. Add on top of that my 4+ year old Powershot A80 seems to be giving up the ghost, and almost all the pictures are crappy as far as picture quality is concerned.
However, some of them turned out decent, and a few capture the area fairly well. I uploaded the best 34 of the 200 I took to a facebook album, and you can view it HERE. (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=45412&l=8badf&id=507841718)
Lemme know what you think!

Just remember to deconatimnate yourself when you come back down. Don't want any of them Yankee 'Liberal cooties' to infect us.

If you didn't make it to towns like blue balls and intercourse, you didn't quite make it to Amish country... Get cut off by any buggy's? I feel bad for the horses each time we go by...

I love rural PA. Most people don't realize that agriculture is the biggest industry here. BTW, it takes about 6 or 7 hours to traverse the state depending on which route you take. It's not as big as the Western States, but you could fit MA, CT, RI, VT and NH inside of PA.

I hoped you enjoyed looking at endless miles of cornfields.

No, we actually didn't see THAT many buggies. However, we did make it into the village of Intercourse. They were actually having a berry festival, so we were able to hang out for that for a little while. And of course taking the occassional side road to view the farms a little closer.
...Bird In Hand, Virginville...
Haha, yeah, saw the sign for Virginville from the interstate. I think we actually rode through some of Bird In Hand.

It's interesting that all but a couple of your pictures are taken from inside a vehicle. I wouldn't want to interact with those Amish freaks either....good for you.

Hey, as obieone already pointed out, I'd've had to go through decontamination processes upon getting back home had I actually gotten out of the car! :p

Nope, sure didn't. However, I did see some electric lights on a few of the carriages they were riding.

That's awesome. I've never actually had any real interaction with any of them. I wouldn't know how to guess if they'd be stand-offish or more friendly, but assuming they do apply their values to the fullest, I would assume they would be humble, generous, and kind. Certainly great traits for great people! :)

The towns of Intercourse, Bird-In-Hand, Virginville, and Blue Ball are all towns fairly close to one another in south eastern PA. Gotta love it.

I just did a job out in Lancaster Pa a few weeks ago. I looked exaclty like your pic's. It's really nice out there if your into Farm land and barns. I like it.
While your out there it would be nice to go to Hershey Pa.

Oh yeah, you're right. That would be really cool. I've heard a few things about it. However, I don't think we're going to get a chance to do it this trip.

Or drop by for lunch... ;)
If you do end up in Hershey, let me know and I can give you some good ideas on what to do for just about any budget.

I especially like how Intercourse is smack-dab between Paradise and Blue Ball.
All joking aside PA is one of the most beautiful states in this country.

Whomever thinks the Amish don't have a sense of humor is wrong! To add to it, I think Virginville is pretty close to Blue Ball.
