Been looking up and down for a coffee table. Has to low so it doesn't interfer too much with the audio path.
I know nothing about old japanese furniture other than this thing looks really cool. It's a tad more than my yet to be received GWB stim pack, but I think it'll match the LSI15 nicely.

hmmm? at that price.. be sure you know what you're getting.. ie: do some research on it and check the condition of it throughly.. I guess I watch to much of that show antiques roadshow to know when someone has been taken buy someone.
If you know someone or have a friend who deals in antiques.. have them give you some questions to ask the seller.
just looking out for ya.. but it's very cool looking.

Nice piece, cool design. . . . but the price seems optimistic for sight unseen - with no documentation. .02$

Unless you specifically had a Japaness motif already picked out, the price for this is small relative to changing your whole room decor to make this piece fit in.
It was relisted from the previous $1k price with no bids......

how can you tell that it's been relisted?
I wanted everything to be all black and glass. This doesn't really fit but it's the best looking coffee table I've seen.

I always look at what else, if any, the seller has listed.....

I would be very cautious on bidding for something that expensive from a seller that has zero seller feedback.

I looked under completed auctions for "Japanese table". It got no bids at $1k.

This table is gorgeous! It's a rare find and looks well made with nice artwork. I think it is worth every penny because original art is usually expensive.

You pay it at live auctions. Think of what it might be at Sotheby's or Christie's...

If you really want it, let the auction end again, and then make a lowball offer to the seller.
