Hi everyone.I buying a GDA-600 monday and Im not sure if my GCD 575 has the right output I can use.The 575 player has a digital out rca jack. The dac doesnt have a digital in jack though. So do I use the coax 1 or 2 in?? And if so whats a really good (and what kind) connecting cable should I get? Oh and Im getting it for $170.00.I believe thats a pretty good deal.

The DAC takes a digital signal as an input and converts it to an analog output signal. There should be a set of digital in jacks and probably some optical inputs for toslinks too. Perhaps the input you describe as coax is the digital in; orange is the popular convention for jack color.
BTW- you were asking about the Toshiba HD-A1 as a CDP. I've had a chance to do some listening since you first asked and I find it to be an outstanding source with its Burr-Brown DACs PCM1755, 24 Bit, 192KHz chips. However, it has a cooling fan and that is a big problem for me for 2ch audio use; OK with movies IMO. It is also a little slow to load and play but I'd be OK with that. The remote is TOTL. It has a pleasant heft, solid feel, all the features you want and is uber attractive to my eye. Too bad about that fan. I may put a switch on that for use with serious listening (as opposed to movies) and see if I burn it up.

Check page 2 of your manual.

I dont have the manual so I looked at the online manuals of both the dac and cd player at adcoms site. I believe the digital out(cd player) goes to the coax IN on the dac.The dac manual suggests a 75ohm digital specific cable (S/PDIF format.) So Im going to check siginal cable and see if he has high quality cable I need. Thanks guys.

Does the CDP have an optical toslink out? The DAC has one; input that is.

No the cdp only has a digital out (RCA type) But I will be buying a dedicated transport with the AES/EBU balanced outputs when I have the funds.Probably a theta or Musical design T-1. I also intend to send the DAC to musical concepts/musical design for a upgrade or to the guy who has those GDA 600s on audiogoN with his so called mojo1 mod.Id like to know what mojo1 is though because he says it makes the adcom sound amazing...
