In case anyone didn't know, shoponkyo.com is having a 4th of July sale. The refurbed 805's are $549.99 normally and everything refurbed is 10% off so that makes it $494.99. That's a pretty slammin deal. Plus, if you join Club Onkyo you get $10 free so that would make it $484.99. And ground shipping is free. Wow, I'd pick up another if I had the funds.

that is a good deal; i have a 705 i picked up from ccity for $400; i wonder if it's worth taking it back (today's the last day) and getting this instead.

The refurbs don't last forever, you have to jump on those deals when they show up.

You can still get a refurb on sale at www.ecost.com for $538.99 (http://www.ecost.com/Detail/Receivers/Onkyo/TXSR805+REF/40650016.aspx). Last time I checked the refurbs at Onkyo were 699, but I guess they could have dropped. Ecost is an authorized dealer for Onkyo so the warranty is good. You should be able to get an extended warranty from Onkyo for $69.
