Looking for a new printer all-in-one

I've had enough of my HP. Between constant networking issues and photo tray eff ups, I've almost decided to get a new one (or see how much it'll cost to get this one repaired)

I'm not going to buy another HP product, ever. Terrible customer service if its not under warranty...I mean honestly...won't even talk to me for free because my product is a few months out of warranty? Screw you.

Just looking for something with bluetooth/wireless/quality scanner/printer. I dont want a scanner than I cant scan a book on (like those where it sucks in the sheet, scans it, then spits it back out...not what i want).

But like I said, I'm not buying HP...and im very stubborn.

Any suggestions (or info on 'Brother' printers) would be greatly appreciated.

thats the same printer we have and we love it go ahead and give HP a second chance. I wouldnt recommend Kodak thought.

Kodak EasyShare 5500 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8250288&type=product&id=1169512290765). The cartridges are half the price of all the others and it prints excellent photos. You get a ream of paper with purchase of cartridges. They claim a 50% savings in printing cost per page. All in one for 2 franklins.

Why wouldn't you recommend a Kodak? For home use?

I have to say, my HP all in one is great. I use and abuse it on a daily basis, no problems.

My next all in one will probably be HP. My POS Epson won't print, scan, or do anything if one of the color cartridges are too low.

Have you considered Canon?

I have an Canon all-in-one laser printer that I really like, though it is not a photo printer...just b&w. I picked it up for $160 new from Amazon last Sept. Been using it for photocopying, printing and color scanning for about 10 months now and it has been working wonderfully. Perhaps they have a comparable one w/ photo printing.

The biggest issue in buying a priner is the cost of ink. Check out the prices of ink cartridges before you buy.

Have you considered a black and white laser printer? I love mine. I get the toner for about $25 (same as the cost of many ink cartridges) and it lasts for several months. I'm a heavy user, too, so I'm saving a ton of money. I don't plan on going back to an ink printer. And on the rare occasion when I need color copies, I use my wife's printer. Depending upon your usage, you can actually buy a B&W laser printer and a low cost color printer, and save money in the long run because you won't be buying all of those damn ink cartridges.

HP's printer quality have really gone down the shitter recently. Their older ones (2000-2005) we have in our office work like a charm. We've got some older little all-in-one printers and the really big high volume office printers and they all work great. We added more new HP printers over the last 2 years and every single one of them has been defective. The most common problem is the ink/powder having ghosting problems on all the paper it prints. You can clean it (the ones we have are self cleaning), put in new toner, and use new paper. None those things solved the problem and frankly HP doesn't do shit to help you out beyond that. I think every printer we called them about ended up being about a 5 hour ordeal when you put together all of the time spent on hold with those jags.

HP Computers, well, they're great office PCs and we still use them. I'd stay away from their printers until they learn how to make a product that can take a few hours of operation over a 5 day work week. I've no doubt their good for home use, but beyond that they're crap.

I would love to give HP another chance, I'm not one to get one product, have a problem with it, then base my opinion on the company because I might've got a lemon.

Fact is, when I did have a problem, since its out of warranty they told me to fuck off. All I wanted was a little bit of guidance on a 1 year, 5 month old printer, and they wanted to charge me. That's bad business and I refuse to change my mind.

Agreed, those Epsons can run out of ink the same day you put the ink in! Just print a stack of photos and you'll see what I mean...

I am using a Brother MFC-9440 AIO. It is FANTASTIC! Although picture detail is not what a photo-inkjet would be, it is not bad at all. The reason I went with a laser is the volume I print (around 4500ppm) and the true speed. The only two negatives are, the time for the first print, and I wish it had auto duplexing. Other than those two things, this machine is ALL the machine I can ask for.

I'm using a Canon at work and a HP 750xi all in one at home. Both work great. The ink for the HP CAN be a tad salty, but there are some decent remanufactured inks out there that will save ya about 25-30%.

I got a Canon PIXMA MX700 a couple of weeks ago and so far I am very happy with it. It is a network printer but wireless is not built-in.

Canon pixma's are great all in ones. I have the mp970 and I use it for work..... it is a workhorse and the quality of all of its work product has been great. Good luck.
