Well today I got a box with 2 Boston 10.5 LF subs in them for free from my mechanic, however the outer rim and the woofer itself has fallen out a little big,

Hopefully you guys know what im talking about. How do I fix this or how much would it cost to fix.

THanks in advance.

Are you saying that the sub itself is a little to small for the opening of the box?

You need new sub woofers that can not be repaired. Sorry for the bad news. That woofer it built into the sub when the are being molded. You might be able to contact the manufacture of the subs and see if they are under warranty.

My friend says its the "suspension" that came apart, the woofer itself still works, but there is air leaking thru.

I understand what you are saying but unless its able to be rebuilt its done. Unless you can like with lacking bass. The "suspension" or cushion is what broke and they can not be fixed. The "foam" has deteriorated or been worked to hard.

Damn so theres no hope even to glue them myself?

On another note, the mechanic said today he would give me 12 inch brand new subs I just need to get a box first. How much would a decent box cost on the flea market or something?

Ya the subs are done buddy sorry about that. Even if you glued it the vibrations from any bass will just rip it apart. A sub box for a couple reasons I wouldn't buy from a flea market unless you absolutely have to. You don't know the quality you are getting for one. I would buy one like this one. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=178650&i=044QLH12D2&tp=554
At crutchfield you know you are getting quality.
Hope this works for ya and its in your price range.

First off we need to know the model of the new subs you are getting so I know what power rang I should be looking for. Ya can get a box like that at best buy of circuit city or you can just order it right from crutchfield I have used them for quite a few years. You could go to a local shop but don't let them take advantage of you if you want to install it yourself you do it yourself just have them build you a box.

I have heard that those Qlogic enclosures are not well sealed, so maybe you should try to put some glue on the corners befor you put your sub on it

and amps... well i think JBL kicker and Kenwood make some good products for the price, but im not sure, maybe someone more experienced can advise you better
